Info Regarding Future Reston Development

Dear HGCA Owners and Residents,

We received a notice from the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning that they will be holding a hearing for a proposed master plan amendment that would change 20 acres of land directly across HGC on Sunrise Valley Drive from mixed office and residential use (intensity ratio of .35 to 1.5 FAR) to Transit Station Mixed use (intensity of 1.5-2.5 FAR).

Preliminary recommendations will be heard at a public workshop on April 27, 2016.  Then a public hearing will be held on June 15, 2016.   For further information about the time and location of the hearings or the affected area, please see the notice here.

Hunter Mill District Supervisor Cathy Hudgins is hosting an Open House, “Reston… Blueprint for the Future” on April 20, 2016, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at South Lakes High School, 11400 South Lakes Drive, in the cafeteria.

The Open House will provide an opportunity for the Reston community to gather information on proposed, planned and anticipated development activity within the Transit Station Areas.  In addition, Fairfax County Government agencies will also present other area projects at this event.  The overall goal is for property owners and/or developers to share with the community a comprehensive vision of what is being considered for the future of Reston.
