An Update on METRO'S PROGRESS TO RESTON
METRO <http://www.wmata.com/> is on track to open the first Reston Station at Wiehle Avenue in late 2013. Get the latest from Patty Nicoson, President of the Dulles Corridor Rail Association <http://www.dullescorridorrail.com/> and Maggie Parker, Communications Director of Comstock Partners <http://www.comstockpartnerslc.com/> , builders of the Reston Station parking garage and surrounding office and residential development.
At a special community briefing on Thursday evening, January 26, they'll use maps, illustrations, and photos, to fill us in on the DC to Dulles Metrorail <http://www.dullesmetro.com/> massive construction project we see underway along the Dulles Road, and adjacent to the Reston Station at Wiehle Avenue. We'll also see and hear about plans and timetables for residential and commercial development around the new Reston Station.

The Board meetings will continue to be held at Reston Community Center - Hunter Woods. At this time RCC is only booking rooms through July 2012. The meetings will begin at 7:30PM. Following is the schedule:

The HGCA Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Reston Community Center – Hunters Wood in Rooms 1-2.
Time: 8:00PM meeting start time; meeting room doors will
open at 7:30 pm to allow time for Member check-in.

Fairfax
County Supervisor, Catherine M. Hudgins, and the Department of Planning and
Zoning will host an informational meeting on Nov. 16 about Phase 2 of the Reston Master Plan Special
Study. The meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at South Lakes
High School, 11400 South Lakes Drive, Reston, Va.
The
meeting will include:
· A 15-minute open house to
review maps and other materials.
· An outline of the process
for reviewing and updating the existing Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan
guidance for preserving residential neighborhoods throughout Reston and for
four of Reston’s five village centers.
· Information about the
Reston Master Plan Special Study Task Force, the Vision and Planning Principles
adopted by the Task Force, and how they will be used in Phase 2.

The 2011-2012 Snow Removal Contract for Hunter's Green Cluster has been finalized. Bill Farrar Turf Maintenance will again be providing snow removal services to the Cluster throughout the upcoming snow season. |
